As times change, so do the rules!

I am Yoshida, president of Yamada Shusei Ltd., a professional apparel garment repair group in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.

With the movement of people and goods associated with the integration with the Mitsuke Plant, in April we began working on a review of our internal rules.

To enjoy the game, we need to share the rules and follow them with each other. Similarly, in order for an organization to function as a safe and secure place to stay and improve performance, it is essential to reconfirm the company's rules.

The "Game of Life," one of Japan's classic games, is a long-selling product that has continued to be loved through the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa era, while changing its content and rules.

For example, in the Showa era, there was a "send year-end gifts to those who have helped you," while in the Heisei era, there was a "create your own homepage on the Internet," and Reiwa era, there was a "get as many followers as possible," among other changes reflecting the values of the times and advances in technology.

For the generation that only knows the early Life Game, the game really feels like a change of times, as in the "Life Game + 2021", where money, paper money, occupation cards, and goal squares do not appear, but rather the influencer cards are used as hand cards and the players compete for the number of followers.

Needless to say, the same name "life game" is no longer the same thing, so you must reconfirm the rules before playing to enjoy the game.

The evolution of this game also has important lessons for our businesses.

It is important to be flexible while distinguishing between what changes and what does not, such as the value of your company, the composition of your company's members, the specific methods and rules for implementing your management philosophy and vision, and changes in social and global conditions.

This will lead to sustainable growth for our company.
