Mother's strength!

I am Yoshida, president of Yamada Shusei Ltd., a professional apparel garment repair group in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.

Today I present words from the March 4 daily calendar. A mother's strength can mean many things and is invaluable to her children.

Today's wind was stronger than Mom's!

On the day the first spring storm blew in, my then 5-year-old son came home from kindergarten crying because his hat had been blown off.

When he saw me, he said the following words.

I remember this incident every time the first day of spring arrives.

                 Kazuko Yoshikawa, Unemployed, Osaka

A mother's strength is invaluable to her child.

A mother's strength gives her child the strength and confidence to live.

A mother's strength teaches her child the value of being loved and happy.

A mother's strength fosters respect and gratitude in her child.

A mother's strength sets a wonderful example of life for her child.

A mother's strength is the greatest gift a child can receive.

In order for this strength of mothers to be utilized in the direction of nurturing the bond between parents and children, it is essential that mothers themselves are not isolated in their ties with their families, friends and acquaintances, workplaces, and local communities.

We must seriously consider the education of the next generation as a responsibility of society as a whole, including not only mothers but also myself.
