Can't stop even though you know it?

I am Yoshida, president of Yamada Shusei Ltd., a professional apparel garment repair group in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.

In September, there was a road closure along my commuting route, so I had to take a detour.

When I go from my home to the office, if I end up at the sign, I have to turn around and drive back to the point about 5 minutes before, which is quite a loss. And I repeat the same mistake almost every day.It was the same this morning.

So I decided to change my commuting route starting tomorrow.

In psychology, a habit is a fixed behavior that can be learned by repetition, repeated with little or no mental effort, and performed with little or no conscious intention. To reset a habit and replace it with a new habit requires "consciously choosing a new habitual behavior". In my case, this would be changing the pathway.

The following tips may help you develop good habits.

At the action level, it is about identifying goals and plans and acting accordingly. It is also important to reflect on your actions and find areas for improvement and success. Also consider what impression your actions will make on others.

On a conscious level, it is about clarifying your values and beliefs and making judgments and decisions based on them. It is also important to have positive thoughts and feelings and to increase your confidence and motivation. You should also be aware of how your consciousness affects others.

On a subconscious level, it is about finding and changing your unconscious beliefs and limitations. It is also effective to use techniques such as image training, affirmations, and reframing to tap into your potential. Also notice how your subconscious mind affects others.

Habitual behavior is hard to stop even if you know it in your head. By clarifying the advantages and disadvantages of bad and good habits, considering and practicing specific methods and devices, and self-evaluating, it is possible to switch habits at both the behavioral, conscious, and subconscious levels.
