How do you define "success?"

I am Yoshida, president of Yamada Shusei Ltd., a professional apparel clothing repair company in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.

In both business and life, I believe that the "secret of success" is to "live life with a goal that you can understand. By the way, what constitutes "success" in the first place?

Some of the "definitions of success" include

 Warren Buffett (investor)

"The measure of success is whether the people closest to you are happy and love you."

Richard Branson( founder of the Virgin Group)

Success is being content with yourself and having peace of mind.

Arianna Huffington( co-founder, The Huffington Post)

Success is something else than just money and power. It is made up of four pillars: health, wisdom,

wonder, and giving. It is made up of four pillars: health, wisdom, wonder, and giving."

 Maya Angelou(poet)

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking the way you do it.

These are only a few of the many definitions of success. What they all have in common is that it is closely related to the satisfaction and peace that comes from connecting with your inner self, not just the "money" or "fame" that is given to you from the outside.

I am referring to the "Definition of Success" by Takashi Harada, President of Harada Institute of Education, Inc.

Mr. Harada's definition is as follows.

Success means setting a goal that is valuable to oneself toward the future and achieving it by a set deadline. And to contribute to others and to society.

The most important point is, both in management and in life, "Is it worth it to me? The most important point is that in both management and life, if you fail to consider whether or not you have value to yourself, you will lose all meaning! If you do not consider this, you will lose the meaning of your life.

In other words, "to be successful" means

Running a company in your own way.

Contributing to society in your own way.

To live life in one's own way.

Finding one's own place in society.

I believe that we will continue to grow in order to achieve such "success.
